A roam of the unconscious, before the ego takes place.

SELF-HARM

Each participant receives a negative plaque(light sensitive film), on which they are to leave their mark.

This way the “harm” comes before the image is taken, before the self even exists. This allows for pure, instinctive action, working as a kind of unconscious therapy, outside the boundaries of the ego.

Blue-sensitive emulsion allows for complete separation of the image from the background.

Bright infrared light increases concentration, exposing the series’s characteristic look and creating a distinctive high-contrast image.
